Bulletin Board. Posted by Gamera @ 12:05 AM
Having returned from Japan, I put the finishing tweaks on the new bulletin board.  Everyone check it out, grab your favorite username, and start using it!  It's purpose is to increase our interactivity here, while preventing overwhelming amounts of e-mail a la our mailing list.  The mailing list is still here, and still the best way to keep up to date on when we have our meetings, etc. but the bulletin board is a more diverse and dynamic way to get your voice heard, ask questions, and more.

Spawn more mahou shoujo! Posted by Gamera @ 3:04 PM
This month the amazing Axia has given us Yokyun episode 2, Creamy Mami episode 6, and Dual episode 4!  Does she slow down?  Heck no!  She's churning out more Crayon Shin-chan even as I type this.  Keeping up with requests for Cardcaptor Sakura the Motion Picture has kept me pretty busy.  Speaking of busy, our own KittyN has put together a fanart page for our website!  Please check it out, and anyone who wants to contribute, please drop her a message.  Thanks K!

Otanjoubi omedetou! Posted by Gamera @ 2:18 PM
Today is Kagurazaka Yuna's birthday!  This month's meeting, Saturday, April 29th, may be the last for a while to come.  As you know, SDSU's policy on room availability over the summer is rather restrictive.  We are looking into some alternative locations to tide us over during the summer, and will keep you all posted via our mailing list.

Gomen nasai! Posted by Gamera @ 4:55 PM
I've made mistakes before, (well, maybe once) and I have to inform you, I made one last month!  The date for our next Wasabi Anime meeting is NOT the 5th of February.   It's February 12thSorry about that.  Result of miscommunication between officers.  ;)

Pam Pulu Pim Pulu Pamu Poppum! Posted by Gamera @ 4:37 PM
As promised, Creamy Mami 5!  We'll start showing Creamy Mami this month from episode 1, so everyone gets a fresh start.  It's another classical mahou shoujo show, and as such I love it.  Lucky for us, so does Axia!

Hisashiburi desu ne! Posted by Gamera @ 10:28 PM
Praise be to Axia!  Dual 3 is done, and more Creamy Mami is on the way!  Looking forward to seeing you all this February 5th, especially you new faces whom I've only met through e-mail so far. :)

As any of you who subscribe to our mailing list know, Anyasys (Vincent) has moved far far away..  ;_;  He's moved to Virginia to be with his fiancée (ok ok.. that's a good thing), so to Vincent, "Omedeto!"

We've also remastered some classical Minky Momo TV from 1982!  Look forward to episodes 1 and 2 this Wasabi..  if you can handle that much cuteness.  (Goddess knows *I* can!)  ;)

Didja know Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be our national bird?  Bet you don't care.  ^_^;  We all know how that one turned out, but hey, I hope you all slip into a pleasant post-dinner coma tomorrow surrounded by loved ones.  Lessee.. I got the Dual Parallel Universe Adventure box 1 today...  in addition to Mamotte Shugogetten! LDs 3 and 4, Mahou Tsukai Tai! TV LD 1, and Tenshi ni Narumon LD 1.   Much wai!  We should have a nice sub of Mahou Tsukai Tai! TV episode for showing this December 4th at Wasabi.

Just as a tidbit, if you've ever wanted the full scoop on that sleepy hormone in turkey, here's the real deal.

Well, here's to you and yours on Thanksgiving!  Peace out, west siii-iiide, dawg and all that crap.  :)

Club Notes Posted by Gamera @ 10:50 PM
Well, despite the alternate location, Wasabi seemed to go off without a hitch!  Next month, it's back to our regular room, CG333.  Due to SDSU students' finals, we reserved the room the only Saturday available in December.  That's December 4th.   Whoa, that's soon! ^^;

I'll keep you all posted on what we're showing, and I encourage everyone to grab flyers here, and feel free to print 'em out and spread the word!

Convention Announcements Posted by Gamera @ 7:38 PM
Announced at Neko-Con, the Gainax series Kareshi Kanoujo no Jijou (His & Her Circumstances to some) has been picked up for US distribution.  This should be a challenge for 'The Right Stuf' with the numerous on-screen gags and language.  Also announced, Right Stuf will be putting out a DVD release of Kimba the White Lion and Irresponsible Captain Tylor.  Let's hope their Tylor DVDs can make us forget the tape quality of their VHS release.  X_x

Anyone holding their breath for Viz's DVD release of Video Girl Ai, go ahead and exhale.  Then, go bang your head on a wall, cuz it's not happenin'.  Viz announced their plans to release Ranma 1/2 and Key the Metal Idol on DVD, but announced they will not be doing Video Girl Ai, as they have not acquired the DVD release rights for that OAV series.

November 20th Wasabi at NE60 Posted by Prehnite @ 10:18 AM
Just to give everyone a head start. Our upcoming November Wasabi isn't going to be in our usual room. Some bastards reserved it ahead of us. =P   In the event that we can't get CG333, we picked a alternate room "NE60" which isn't as big (then again, nothing is) but it still fits our needs. http://wasabi-anime.com/ne60.html for a example of where it is. And December 4th we will be returning to CG333

Card Captor Sakura translations are movin' along.  Our esteemed translator Axia has complete episode 20's translation!  As you already know, she did 21 and 22 months ago from TV source, so once I've timed it, this will bring us up to episode 22!  Ganbatte Ax-chan!  ;)

Halloween Eve. Posted by Gamera @ 11:29 PM
I'm fully stocked with tooth-rotting "Fun Size" candy bars to hand out to all the grubby little Marxists that will be showing off their store-bought rubber-banded Darth Maul masks and shrieking and squealing and giggling while I grudgingly haul myself off the couch to fill their plastic pumpkins and send them on their way.  Alas, at the last minute I find out I won't be home, so I guess they're all MINE!

Progress Report. Posted by Gamera @ 11:54 PM
Finally, we have a progress report, similar to the one we use for Temple of Yokyun.  We'll try to keep it up to date with the latest on our subbing projects.

Speaking which, the script for ËDENs BOwY episode 1 is now available in jacosub format.   Contact me if you have the LD and are interested in obtaining a copy.

Distro Partners. Posted by Gamera @ 6:46 PM
We've taken on quite a number of VHS requests in the last few months!  As a result, we're cooperating with a couple distributors to help lighten the load, and get us focused more on fansubbing!  Our list of approved distros will always be kept up to date right HERE.

Guess I'll start by getting us up to date. Posted by Gamera @ 5:24 PM
Last month saw the premiere of EDENs BOwY at Wasabi Anime.  This is a series of great interest to Axia, and is being subbed by kurikun for our showings.  When we have a completed 1-4, it will be made available for distro.  Work is also underway in the final mastering of Mamotte Shugogetten! 1-4.   Due to the "mishap" last month, we will be showing 3-6 this month to get caught up.  Dual is also steadily coming along, and we hope to have 1-4 tapes of Dual and MS available by November 20th.
